How Should You Respond to a Commercial Roof Leak?
When water is coming in, move fast to limit the damage:
- Protect the interior. Move or cover inventory, equipment, and electronics; place containers under active drips.
- Document everything. Photograph the interior damage and the water's path — you will need it for insurance.
- Mark the location. Note where water is entering so the crew can trace it to the source on the roof.
- Call a commercial roofer for an emergency repair. A temporary patch stops the bleeding until a permanent repair can be scheduled.
